Here are the answers to a few things you might've been wondering about., or maybe not.  Perhaps you don't even know what you should ask and are hoping that this gives you something to go on. In either case, read on my friend!  Of course, if you have a question that you don't see answered here give me a shout via the contact form.

What should we wear?

That's a good question! The short answer is whatever you want. You're going to  look your best in something you feel comfortable in.  The long answer could be an entire book. Perhaps I should write it! Really though if you can answer yes to all of the following questions you're more than likely doing just fine. Does everyone look like they're going to the same place or doing the same thing? Are the outfits appropriate to the season? If you weren't having photos taken, would you still wear it? Can you move, walk, sit, etc without needing to readjust or causing too many wrinkles? If you look at all of the outfits together, can you define a color palette?

Absolutely!  Once we start chatting I will send you a questionnaire to find out more about who you are, your interests, and what types of things would work for you. From there we will chat and come up with a game plan for your session.

I can totally understand that. It can feel awkward to have someone that you don't know telling you stupid jokes, asking you to move your head this way and that, and on top of it all you're in a fun place like the park but you're not allowed to play. That's exactly why as a photographer I stopped focusing on the photo and started focusing on the moment and the experience together. It's okay if there's a warm up period at the beginning. Once we get started the camera and "taking photos" will be no big deal.

Sure! It's your session. We can take whatever photos you want. I can even make a game out of it at the end of your session if you like.

Can we take photos at our favorite bar / coffee shop / restaurant?

As long as the folks at your favorite spot are okay with it then definitely!

will we get every photo you take?

will we get every photo you take?

No, and you wouldn't want to. Trust me. At the end of your session there will be a lot of photos, far more than you would want to sort through to find your favorites. My first task once I get your photos back to my office is to take out the shots where I missed focus, the bad angles (yeah bad angles happen, especially on sessions with a lot of movement and activity), duplicates, etc. Those raw photos are safely tucked away and not included in your final gallery. That leaves you with the best representation of our time together in your gallery and none of the crap.

how long will it take to get our photos after our session?

how long will it take to get our photos after our session?

The time between your session and receiving your final gallery depends heavily on my shooting schedule and the type of session. The maximum turn around time for family sessions or events under four hours is 30 days. For weddings or adventure sessions my maximum turn around time is 90 days.

do you photograph weddings / birthday parties / graduation celebrations / Etc?

YES! I love capturing all sorts of milestones and events. I was a fully dedicated wedding photographer for over 10 years and still enjoy photographing a few every year. That said,  I only open my calendar for a small number of weddings and events every year. So, if you're having an event and think I'm the right fit, please reach out as early as possible.
